The City of Lubbock will begin accepting applications for Probationary Police Officer positions from November 2, 2024 to March 4, 2025. The Probationary Police Officer Entrance Exam will be given March 8, 2025 at the Lubbock Police Academy, 508 Davis Dr. in Reese Center at 8:30 AM. All applicants should plan to arrive at the testing location by 7:45 AM.
All applications for this exam must be completed online and received by the City of Lubbock Human Resources Department by 11:59p.m. on March 4, 2025. Interested candidates must apply online.
Applicants must be at least 20 years and 6 months of age on the day of the Lubbock Police Entrance Exam. IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS AFTER SEPTEMBER 8, 2004, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR HIRE. Applicants must pass the Probationary Police Officer Entrance Exam before taking the Physical Ability Test. The Physical Ability Test will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, after the entrance examination. The eligibility list created as a result of this examination will be effective from March 8, 2025, through September 8, 2025 unless exhausted before that date. The physical ability test for the Entrance exam into the Lubbock Police Academy is a TIMED 2000 meter row. The score for this assessment is set at 40%. The score is calculated and based off of the applicant’s age, weight, and gender. There is NO set time for this assessment as each applicant is different.
