The Peoria County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for experienced candidates with completed PTI Training to join our Patrol team. Currently, priority is being given to candidates who have completed PTI and have prior service as a full-time Law Enforcement Officer as defined by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board.

Residency within a 35-mile radius of the four-way stop in Kickapoo, IL (IL 150 and Kickapoo-Edwards Rd) High School diploma or equivalent required Must be 21 years of age and hold U.S. Citizenship Ability to pass a series of tests including: physical agility test, written exam, polygraph, psychological exam, pre-employment medical exam, and background check. Must submit to fingerprinting by the Peoria County Sheriff's Office. Must submit the following supplemental application materials: photocopy of birth certificate, photocopy of high school diploma or equivalent, photocopies of transcripts or proof of further education (if applicable), photocopy of proof of honorable discharge from military service/DD214 (if applicable)
