Company Information

The Rowley Police Department provides around-the-clock public safety services for the Town of Rowley.  We respond to approximately 20,000 calls for service annually, which range from serious crimes and medical emergencies to minor disturbance calls and other safety oriented activities.  The sworn staff is comprised of the Chief of Police, a Captain who serves as the executive officer, three Sergeants, one Detective, and six patrolmen for a total of 12 full-time officers.  We also employ between eight and ten reserve police officers whose function is to fill in for sick and vacation time for full-time officers and to provide extra manpower when required.

The Police Department is also responsible for the operation of the communications center.  This consists of four Communications Specialists, one part-time Communication Specialist, and three reserve Communications Specialists.  The communications center is equipped with the latest technology including E911 and EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) and all Specialists must be state certified.  The communications center handles both radio and telephone traffic primarily for the police, and fire departments, and secondarily for the light, highway, water, and cemetery departments and is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Rowley Police Department has been an accredited agency since 2002.

Experience

Resume, Cover Letter, High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree or higher in Criminal Justice preferred. MUST be POST-certified and Full-Time or Bridge Academy trained.
