Dispatchers handle requests for all Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Medical Services received via 9-1-1,
telephone and radio. The dispatcher documents calls using computer software systems and established
protocols. Dispatchers frequently interact with people who are agitated and under stress and must have the ability
to remain calm and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Also must be able to multi-task and follow
directions.
The women and men of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office welcome you to this site. We have been faithfully serving our neighbors since 1839. At nearly 7,000 square miles, Aroostook County is the largest county east of the Mississippi River; larger than Connecticut and Rhode Island combined. We are a progressive law enforcement and corrections agency that is grounded in tradition, but focused on the future.
