Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent apprentice level of trade knowledge; one to three (1-3) years of prior work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Special Position Requirements: Preference will be given to those applicants who have completed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s (MCJA) ALERT test or be eligible to receive a waiver from MCJA Be a minimum of 21 years old (or 20 years old with at least 60 college credit hours Possess a valid driver’s license Pass a thorough background and financial check, polygraph exam, and psychological test Be in good physical condition/health; pass a physical agility assessment test based on the MCJA physical agility pre-entrance test.
