In order to be considered as a candidate, applicants must be at least twenty (20) years of age, be a United States citizen (or in the process of becoming a citizen at the time of hiring), and must have completed a high school equivalent education as a minimum requirement qualification. Applicants will need to pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy basic academic "ALERT" test (scoring at least 45), and complete a standardized Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) which is also conducted by the MCJA in Vassalboro. Selected applicants will undergo an Oral Interview, and those subsequently offered "Conditional Employment" will then be scheduled for a thorough Background Check and Polygraph Examination; followed by a Psychological and Medical Examination
